Artist's Description
If memory serves I only altered the contrast, color saturation and tint--the ballpoint lines remain on this detail as they were on the original at the time that the photo was taken. The original drawing was started in 1992 as a queen size sheet that was cropped and altered into many versions then in 2006 the piece (cropped to 5'x4' ) went under a high resolution scan. I've utilized that scan in the large overview of the drawing that appears on this site. As for this detail--it was altered after the 2006 scan as was the entire 5'x4' image. The experiments continue. The cloth drawing has been cut into around a dozen bits—the largest being 36'x24'. At some point I plan on having larger than original canvas prints done of some of the small bits and then proceed to draw into them with more ballpoint and there by adding more detail and texture to the mix.
About Jack Dillhunt
I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin which I still call home. In 1994 I graduated with an art degree--among other things--from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. For many years I was known mostly for my ballpoint on bedsheet drawings one of which made it into a major show at Ameircan Visionery in Baltimore. In recent years I have done many ballpoint digital images and have done some distorted selfie’s which I intend to have printed on canvas and then proceed to add a ballpoint graphic thereby creating some mixed medium drawings. I intend to do more of these photos that sport a ballpoint graphic in the future.
